In 2024, the focus will be on further developing our approach and understanding these themes. The aim is to make our impact measurable for each theme, set targets, and work towards improvement with concrete action plans.
Employee development
Attention to employee training remains important. Ultimately, every employee should be clear about
Circular chain partner
Our range of circular products will continue to grow in the coming years. We will enter into partnerships where necessary and jointly gain experience to derive an increasing share of our revenue from circular chains. We will also make this measurable and set our targets accordingly.
Sustainable product assortment
More and more sales colleagues from the Food & Services and Agri & Industry divisions are being trained in assortment classification. Once the new ERP system has been implemented in the Horti division, we will start implementing the assortment classification there too, so that they can use it for customers. We will then focus on setting the appropriate KPIs.
Business integrity and transparency
So there are plenty of big projects to work on in 2024. However, the greatest impact may be in what our employees enthusiastically do on a daily basis. Every day we look for more sustainable products and materials, encourage our customers to make even more sustainable choices and focus on working with all our partners to make packaging chains more sustainable.
After focusing on social safety last year, we will continue to draw attention to our internal norms and values. We will also work on elaborating our work processes, responsibilities and internal controls on sustainability data.
Fair working conditions in the chain
Next year, we will define the sustainable procurement approach for all our suppliers so that we include sustainability criteria in all our procurement decisions. In parallel, we are examining which chains involve our biggest risks, allowing us to focus even more on making the most substantial impact.
Paardekooper wants to make sustainability accessible and understandable to a wide audience. We hope this report contributed to that for you. If you have any ideas, tips, questions or comments, please contact us at:

how they contribute to sustainability in their own job. Workplace safety and making it measurable is also currently an area of attention.

We are continuously working on preparations for European legislation on non-financial reporting (CSRD). We do this with relevant departments in the organization in collaboration with Finance. Each year, we share our progress in the sustainability report. With this second sustainability report, we are again making great strides towards a CSRD-proof report, including by focusing our reporting on the six material themes.
