Other circular solutions
Recylution is a smart recycling process for plastic waste. Customers collect their plastic business waste in CircularBags, which Paardekooper collects. Our partner, Circular Plastics, turns it back into raw materials for products such as flower covers and waste bags. In 2024, 3,500 CircularBags were collected, representing 24 tons of plastic. In addition, we help with reusable e-commerce packaging and the BOXO Return return system, which reduces CO2 emissions and water consumption by up to 70%.
Flower transport solutions
Three (flower) transport innovations deserve attention: Floraloop, the Flower Eco Sheet tulip sleeve and reusable transport boxes.
Floraloop optimises reusable flower buckets with RFID stickers, resulting in lower costs and a lower environmental impact. The Flower Eco Sheet replaces paper tulip sheets, saves paper waste, and offers better protection. Reusable plastic transport boxes, developed with Newwen, can be reused up to 25 times and feature smart technologies such as RFID and QR codes for a more efficient supply chain.
Reusable cups
and dishes
The future of food and beverage packaging is circular and sustainable. By using reusable systems, such as smart collection systems (smart bins for example) and RFID cups, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of packaging. Paardekooper offers solutions for both rental and purchase. Our experiences from 2024 have demonstrated that return rates of 95% are achievable with deposit solutions. Recycling initiatives, such as the recycling of cardboard coffee cups and (r)PET cups do contribute to waste reduction. Together with our customers, we are working towards a greener future.
‘At Paardekooper we see it as our role to take the lead and share our sustainability knowledge and expertise.’

Circular chain partner

This is why we tested reusable packaging in 2024, down to the level of looking at the number of times the packaging is reused. This is not just to see how much packaging is returned, but also to substantiate this financially to our customer or consumer. We also expanded our range with several reusable packaging solutions, and further expanded our recycling solutions in 2024. New strategic partnerships were established and current partnerships strengthened to enable these solutions.
Fortunately, this produced good results: for our solutions using reusable packaging, around 95% is usually returned while 90% of our recycling solutions are returned. This applies in closed venues or when using a deposit system, and in both B2B and B2C environments.
Here at Paardekooper we are increasingly focusing on solutions that result in packaging being returned so that it can be reused or recycled.
