Sustainability Report 2024

Our colleague in Miami, Joyce Aerts, is chairman of the Sustainability Task Force of IFPA (International Fresh Produce Association) on behalf of Paardekooper. Through this task force, she is committed to making the fresh produce sector in the US more sustainable. For example, this task force conducted a survey last year on sustainability among IFP’s ornamental horticulture members and, at the request of the task force, Dr. Alan Campbell gave them a presentation on sustainability and LCA.

Fruit Attraction Madrid:
Legislation and Sustainability in
Fresh Produce Packaging

During the Fruit Attraction trade show in Madrid, we not only shared information about our current range of fresh produce packaging, Dr. Alan Campbell also gave a presentation on developments in legislation at the request of Paardekooper.

In addition, we also presented a product passport for a number of sustainable products that provides insight into product properties, the carbon impact and a practical translation of this carbon impact. Visitors could therefore
compare the more sustainable
alternative with the standard
product on a number
of points.

Certification

Legislation

Certificates are crucial to guarantee the quality and sustainability of our packaging. We work with various recognised certification authorities to guarantee that our packaging meets the highest environmental and quality standards. As a result, our customers can be sure they are choosing responsibly produced products.

Sustainability and packaging legislation is constantly changing. We keep our customers informed of these changes by proactively informing them about the most important developments. Read more about the legislation currently being prepared in the EU and how we stay informed and proactively prepare for upcoming legislation.
