Sustainability anchored in our organisation

Over the past year, we have maintained intensive contact with our stakeholders to maintain a good relationship and work together on sustainable solutions. This has enabled us to gain valuable insights and to improve the alignment of our strategies with the needs of all parties involved.

Combined with the value chain we established in 2023, we now have a clear view of our position and where we can make an impact. This close collaboration enables us to work collaboratively towards a more sustainable future and achieve our goals more effectively.

These six guiding themes are not only central to our sustainability reports, but above all help us focus our sustainability efforts on the aspects that matter most to our stakeholders.

In addition, the topics have been developed further this year compared to last year. We have been working on integrating the themes into our business operations and activities. This helps us embed sustainability into our organisation and our daily activities even more deeply.

In our 2023 Sustainability Report, we presented the six themes most relevant to us, based on a double materiality analysis. In determining this, we looked at Paardekooper’s impact on the environment and society, as well as the sustainability risks and opportunities for our company. We worked with our stakeholders to identify the themes through desk research, interviews and workshops, and then explored the topics further. We have taken the most important effects, risks and opportunities into account from a sustainability and financial perspective.

Over the past year we have been working on coupling the thematic guidelines (ESRSs) in preparation for the CSRD legislation for sustainability reporting. We will report on the approach, objectives and progress for each material theme in the future. We currently report quantitative targets and progress across three of the six themes: reducing environmental impact in the supply chain, sustainable product range and fair working conditions. We are working hard to develop and measure the other three themes.
