Bioglitter®
In October 2023, the EU introduced new legislation concerning microplastics, Regulation (EU) 2023/2055 on Microplastics, which bans the use of glitter containing microplastics. These regulations, which aim to prevent microplastics getting into the environment, also affect the packaging and decoration sector.

The result: Bioglitter® – an innovative and environmentally-friendly solution. Our patented, advanced Bioglitter® products are made from cellulose instead of standard synthetic polymers or biopolymers and are fully compliant with Regulation (EU) 2023/2055, as they are designed to break down quickly and safely in the environment. In addition, these glitters meet the requirements for TÜV OK biodegradable WATER certification, and the OECD 301 test proves the water degradability of the glitters.
